Providing the finest care for mothers and babies

Growing Expectations

Our program is for expectant families to offer guidance and treatment from early stages in your pregnancy to delivery. We want your entire pregnancy and birth experience to be as smooth and enjoyable as possible, allowing you to focus on what is truly important to you. At Franklin County Medical Center our goal is to offer comprehensive prenatal, postnatal and well baby care to our patients and community.

“The nurses and doctors went beyond my expectations to make my experience memorable. Providing exceptional care every step of the way I felt comfortable and prepared for birth and parenting.”

Our Services

Your Comfort Is Our Priority

Any parent considering birth at FCMC can call at any time to schedule a tour of our labor and delivery, nursery, and post-partum rooms. For moms already receiving Willow Valley care, we will call you in the last month of pregnancy to arrange a time convenient for you to pre-register and tour our facility.

Schedule your prenatal tour: (208) 852-4110

We offer pre-registration for every upcoming birth. You will meet individually with a nurse who will review your pre-admission history, birth preferences and address any questions you might have. This allows us to prepare ahead to make your day the best possible and allows you to focus on birth and baby on your special day instead of paperwork.  You will finish the appointment with a massage gift certificate and a surprise gift from us to you.

Schedule your pre-registration: (208) 852-4110

Children of any age who are expecting a new baby in their family can learn about their mother’s stay at the hospital and learn ways to assist in caring for the new baby at home. One parent must accompany the child, but both parents are encouraged to attend. Free to families delivering at FCMC.

Schedule an appointment: (208) 852-4113

Expectant parents are invited to our breastfeeding basics class, a two-hour mini class on breastfeeding and infant feeding. Our class covers what to expect in the hospital, skin-to-skin positioning, how to recognize and achieve a good latch, establishing milk supply, and troubleshooting common challenges at home. Be sure to bring your questions with you! Breastfeeding classes are free for FCMC patients and are taught by Aneesa Beutler, a board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) offering professional breastfeeding support since 2006.

You and your partner are invited to our childbirth education series, taught by Leah Thompson, a childbirth educator for more than 20 years. Classes are offered once a week for one month, and free of charge for FCMC patients. Topics include: Stages of Labor, Birth, Medications and Pain Control Options, Breathing for Birth, Postpartum  Expectations (after birth), Infant Feeding and Newborn Care.

Register for next available series: (208) 390-8495

At your pre-registration interview we can review your insurance coverage and what to expect with costs related to your birth. We offer an OB payment package for those that may have a high deductible, are uninsured, or choose to pay out of pocket in lieu of insurance plans. This package includes delivery, nursery and hospital fees, as well as physician charges for prenatal care and postnatal visits.

Information about OB payment package: (208) 852-4160

Our certified car seat safety technicians are available by appointment and during your hospital stay to assess your personal car seat. They can help make sure it’s in safe working condition, and that parents and family members feel confident installing and adjusting it to their child.

Car seat safety appointments: (208) 852-4100

Each family is sent home with gifts at every opportunity, from our fresh-baked cookies at check-in to a coupon for a free massage (from a certified massage therapist) given at every pre-registration appointment. After baby arrives, we will send you home with our new baby bundle, a hand-wrapped gift basket specially designed for new parents with diapers, wipes, and other essentials for your first few weeks at home.
