Michael Barton M.A. CCC-SLP
Practice Focus Areas: Certified and proficient in evaluating swallow function via modified barium swallow studies and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES). Treatment certifications include VitalStim (e-stim) for swallow treatment, and LSVT for speech/voice/swallow in patients with Parkinson’s Disease.
Michael came to FCMC in the spring of 2019 with the goal of establishing and growing a consistent speech pathology program. He is certified with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Education and Training
Michael graduated from the University of Utah in 2008 with a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. He spent 11 years working at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, working with patients in ICU, 3 acute care floors, inpatient rehab, skilled nursing and outpatient rehab. During this time he also worked as a home health therapist. His specialties included treating stroke and traumatic brain injury, voice disorders, and swallowing disorders.
