Biography:
Lance Hansen is a Southeastern Idaho native raised on a potato farm in the Snake River area. He played basketball at the College of Idaho and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. After undergrad, Dr. Hansen attended the University of Washington School of Medicine, which is perennially recognized at the top of national rankings for primary care. His post-graduate training emphasized rural family medicine, which he loves for the relationships that he develops with patients and their families over time as well as the breadth and variety of practice. While at the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho—Caldwell Rural Training Track, he was selected to serve as the Chief Resident. In 2017, the American Academy of Family Physicians awarded him the Degree of Fellow. Dr. Hansen enjoys teaching and training medical students and residents. He has also been involved in choosing the next generation of Idaho physicians as a member of the University of Washington School of Medicine Admission’s Committee during a 7-year tenure, leading the Idaho committee for 4 years. Dr. Hansen enjoys full-spectrum family medicine including obstetrics, pediatrics, inpatient and outpatient medicine, and ER, as well as skin procedures, C-sections, and EGD/Colonoscopies. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife(Joni) and six children as well as hiking, skiing, traveling, running, and golfing.
