Billie Short, LMSW

Social Services

Practice Focus Areas: Social Services is a focus on assisting individuals and families in times of need and/or crisis, which is something we deal with daily at FCMC. Her goal is to help people draw on their own strengths and abilities, develop skills and resources to empower themselves to solve their problems. Through means such as psychological assessments, assisting with advance directives, accessing community resources, crisis and counseling services, the goal is to help clients and patients of all ages and abilities be successful and as independent as possible in their daily lives.

Billie was born and raised in the Black Hills of South Dakota where she met and married her husband Marty. They have four amazing children, two girls and two boys all of which have unisex names like their parents. They are all out of the house and either furthering their current career or education paths. She loves to be outdoors, swimming, kayaking, hiking, biking, camping, and riding the four-wheeler. She is an avid reader and enjoys binge watching reality TV shows as they make her feel really good about her own life choices.

Education and Training

Billie obtained a Bachelor’s of Science at the University of Wyoming and her Masters of Social Work degree from Walden University. She did her Master Level internships at Idaho Health and Welfare Child Protective Services and FCMC.  She is currently a Licensed Master of Social Work or LMSW.
