Franklin County Medical Center Names New CEO

Preston, ID – 07/21/2017 – The Board of Trustees of Franklin County Medical Center (FCMC) is pleased to welcome Darin Dransfield as CEO. Dransfield joins FCMC with more than 20 years of successful experience working in a rural healthcare hospital setting.

“We are excited to introduce Darin to our community,” said Thane Winward, trustee chairman of FCMC. “His leadership, rural healthcare experience and commitment to patient care make him a natural fit for the position. We look forward to working closely with him to further advance our mission to strengthen relationships with physicians, employees and the community.”

During his 20-year tenure at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital, Dransfield served as a Rehabilitation Director, was a member of the hospital executive team, and acted as the Administrator of the long-term care facility. He also practiced Physical Therapy, providing over 40,000 visits to the residents of the Bear Lake Valley. Most recently, Dransfield was the Executive Director of a 90-bed Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care Facility in Twin Falls, ID, where he was elected as a state representative on the Idaho Health Care Association board. Under Dransfield’s leadership in Bear Lake, the Skilled Nursing facility rose from a Medicare rating of one star to five stars in 18 months.

“Rural healthcare and this corner of Idaho are in my DNA. My family is excited to make Preston our permanent home,” shared Dransfield. “I look forward to working with the incredible medical staff and Franklin County community to deliver first-rate, convenient healthcare in an environment that is more caring than any urban setting.”

Dransfield has an MBA in Health Care Management from Western Governor’s University, a degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Oklahoma, a certification from the Sports Center in Austin, TX, and a Nursing Home Administration license from the state of Idaho.
